Millie Roberts has been named the top softball player in the state of Kentucky by MaxPreps, an online high school sports forum affiliated with CBS Sports. She is a student-athlete at Daviess County High School and has committed to continuing her academic and athletic career at Auburn University next year.
Honorees were selected based on 2021 statistical information submitted to MaxPreps, postseason local and national honors, college commitments and/or player rankings by Extrainnings Softball, FloSoftball and Southball America.
Roberts now advances for consideration for additional recognition, including being eligible to be named among the Top 25 Players in the Class of 2022.
Roberts, a senior member of the DCHS softball team, holds the single season record for home runs (16); slugging percentage (1.138); on-base percentage (.640); and career records for home runs (36).
DCHS softball coach John Biggs said, “Millie’s hard work and dedication has enabled her to develop into one of the most feared hitters in the state. Though Millie gets most of her attention from her offensive numbers, she has also developed into an outstanding defensive catcher. Millie takes great pride in being a leader for the Daviess County softball program.”
