Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, former Owensboro High School star Aric Holman will be signing a 10 day hardship contract with the NBA’s Miami Heat. Holman has been playing for the Austin Spurs, the San Antonio Spur’s G-League team.
The Miami Heat are currently down to 7 active players due to injuries and Holman will join the Heat on their current road trip, starting tonight in San Antonio. While the contract is for 10 days, that could be extended if Holman performs well and the team still has injury issues.
Holman was a member of the 2015 Owensboro High School state championship basketball team and continued his career at Mississippi State where he led the Bulldogs to the NIT final four at Madison Square Garden in 2018. Holman played for the Lakers NBA summer league team and the Texas Legends (Dallas Mavericks G-League team). Once the COVID-19 pandemic began, G-League play halted and Holman went overseas to play for Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany before returning home in 2021 to play for the Boston Celtics NBA summer league team. That opportunity led Holman back to the NBA G-League, where he was playing for the Austin Spurs
The Miami Heat are signing C Aric Holman of the G-League Austin Spurs to a 10-day hardship deal, sources tell ESPN. His best attribute today? Driving distance. He's on his way to San Antonio to meet the Heat and help them have 8 active players to avoid a postponement vs. Spurs.
