Driver’s Licensing no longer involves going to the Judicial Center in Downtown Owensboro effective September 27th!
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Facebook page, more counties will soon experience the new era for driver licensing in Kentucky in September. This is part of a phased, county-by-county transfer that provides Kentuckians modern licensing services and more options.
Starting Sept. 27th, residents of Boone, Boyd, Clinton, Daviess, Estill, Henry, Johnson and Monroe counties will visit any Driver Licensing Regional Office, instead of the Office of Circuit Court Clerk in their county of residence, to request or renew driving credentials and IDs.
For Daviess County, here’s what you need to know:
HOW TO RENEW OR APPLY:
These county residents may renew or apply for a REAL ID or new standard driver licenses, permits, CDLs and ID cards at any KYTC Driver Licensing Regional Office. The Daviess County Regional Office is located at 2620 KY-81, Owensboro, KY 42301.
Applicants are encouraged to make an appointment here.
Walk-ins are welcome but capacity is limited.
DRIVER TESTING:
Kentucky State Police will continue to oversee all permit and license testing. Appointments MUST BE scheduled online for written or road testing. Click here for scheduling and testing locations.
