A judge in Daviess County has granted a temporary restraining order that prevents the Confederate Statue’s removal pending the results of a lawsuit that claim the United Daughters of the Confederacy have ownership of the statue, not the Daviess County Fiscal Court. The current fiscal court in Daviess County voted to move the statue off of courthouse grounds last year. The United Daughters of the Confederacy wants the county to return the statue to them.
