A charity event to support an Owensboro native’s foundation will be held next month. Money raised during the Wednesday, June 9th charity ride will support the Nicky Hayden Memorial Foundation. The ride on Nicky Hayden Day will honor Hayden’s philanthropic legacy. The professional motorcycle racer known as the “Kentucky Kid” died from injuries suffered in a bicycling accident in May of 2017 while training in Italy.
