In response to a suit filed by the Kentucky Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, attorneys for the Daviess County Fiscal Court have filed a response in the lawsuit over ownership of the confederate statue on the lawn of the Daviess County Courthouse. County officials have decided to move it to another location.
The Kentucky Division of the United Daughters of the Confederacy claim they became the statue’s owner when a smaller chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy dissolved. The chapter wants the rights to move the statue to another location as well.
