The Glover H. Cary bridge “the blue bridge” in downtown Owensboro recently had 512 LED light fixtures installed at a cost of $1.9 million dollars to the city. During the celebration of the inaugural lighting, it was stated that the lights would last 20 years before needing to be replaced. Officials with the City of Owensboro state that two controllers are experiencing issues, which is the reason for the dark spots in various areas on the bridge. The city is working with a contractor to hopefully have the lights at full capacity by the end of the month.
Lights out for the Blue Bridge – for now
