It was exactly one year ago today, when Covid-19 was just gaining mainstream publicity and shutdowns had begun, that we lost country artist Joe Diffee to the virus. He became one of many to succumb to the ailment.
At 61 years old, Diffie left behind a legacy of top ten hits, including five Number 1 songs. Since his death, Diffie’s wife, Tara, has continued to share tributes to her late husband on social media. The Diffie family has also asked fans to help keep the singer’s legacy alive by “celebrating his life and achievements.” On Sunday, the family asked fans to wear green and share a photo in honor of Diffie. They wrote:
“With tomorrow being 1 year since Dad has passed, in honor of him we will be wearing green Monday, March 29th. We invite all of you to participate in celebrating his life and achievements. We would love for you to post a picture of you wearing your green as well!”
Classic Counntry 94.7 WBIO and WKCM continue to feature his music, including hits like “Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox” and “John Deere Green.
