Congressman Brett Guthrie announced yesterday that Brescia University is receiving a $295,343 from the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women.
The grant is being awarded through the DOJ’s Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus Program.
“College students need to feel safe on campuses,” said Guthrie. “This grant will allow Brescia to work with the Owensboro Police Department and New Beginnings Sexual Assault Support Services to create a comprehensive initiative that will provide prevention programming, ongoing training to law enforcement and campus personnel, and access to confidential victim services. I want to commend Brescia for proactively working with their community partners to facilitate a safe space on campus.”
