Current Kentucky Wesleyan College track and field coach Tony Rowe joins us in our Coaches Spotlight brought to you by Foreman, Watson, Holtrey.
Rowe is a 2001 inductee to the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of fame and has been named national coach of the year in 2004 and 2009.
In a set down interview with 102.7 The Game’s David Clark, Rowe talks about his time as a standout high school runner at Owensboro High School under the direction of Bob Puckett. After graduation at OHS, Rowe went on to run at Eastern Kentucky University for the Colonels. After accepting a job with the Daviess County Public Schools, Rowe would go on to build a cross country powerhouse with the Panthers, amassing an impressive 10 state championships, eight in cross country, two in track and field.
Rowe highlights some of his standout runners over the years, and talks about coaching his two sons (Mark and Matt) while at DCHS. After retiring from DCPS, Rowe accepted the job as cross country and track and field coach for Kentucky Wesleyan College.
