OHS’ Isaac Humphrey is the last senior spotlight, and we saved Humphrey for last for a reason. He’s simply the biggest baseball recruit to come out of Owensboro in quite some time, and his play on the field backed up his accolades. The 6 ‘3 left handed pitcher received an offer from Louisville his sophomore season and committed on the spot. Humphrey was also a part of the class of 2020 that resurrected the tradition rich Owensboro Red Devil baseball program.
In the 2018 season, Humphrey and the Red Devils were able to capture their first district championship in many years. The 2019 season saw the Red Devils go 24-11 and reach the 3rd region semifinals. Owensboro was expected by many to be a top 10-15 team in the state of Kentucky, but COVID-19 derailed the 2020 season. Humphrey was a multi-sport athlete, also helping the OHS basketball team reach the Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena in 2019.
