The Mayo Clinic is expected to put out a test that can determine if people who have recovered from the coronavirus are now immune. Owensboro Health said yesterday it’s already pre-ordered several of the antibody tests. OH officials say the new tests should be more accurate than antibody tests that are already on the market. They say COVID-19 testing is not yet 100-percent accurate.
Officials with Owensboro Health are also concerned with the way some people are approaching testing for the coronavirus. They said yesterday that an increasing number of people are being told by employers to get tested prior to returning to work after a co-worker tests positive. OH officials say many of them are requesting tests despite not having any symptoms. OH says it has not been testing asymptomatic people.
