The numbers of unemployment claims is causing a systems overload for the Kentucky education and Workforce Development cabinet. The U.S. Department of Labor numbers released this week show nearly 113-thousand jobless claims were filed in the Commonwealth last week. There were just over 49-thousand employment claims filed the week before. Governor Beshear says it’s an unprecedented time with the number of claims, but it’s his job to get it fixed.
