The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has placed a new traffic signal at the KY 2698/Carter Road intersection with KY 2121/Southtown Boulevard in Owensboro.
The new signal is expected to remain in flashing mode to allow motorists to become familiar with the signal location. While the signal is in flashing mode, motorists on KY 2121/Southtown Boulevard should continue to obey the stop signs and yield to traffic on the main line of KY 2698/Carter Road. The new signal will remain in flashing mode until the signal goes into full red-yellow-green operation. Weather permitting, the signal is expected to become fully activated on the morning of Tuesday, July 30. This intersection is at KY 2698/Carter Road mile point 1.2 and KY 2121/Southtown Boulevard mile point 1.351. Motorists should be prepared for changes in traffic flow the signal will bring to this intersection once the new signal is fully activated.
