By authority of State Statutes, appropriate Fire Code and City Ordinances, Owensboro Fire Chief Steve Mitchell has issued a Fireworks Restriction in the designated area so mapped as attached. This area is within 1/2 mile of the damaged OZ Tyler Rick House.
Within the designated area, No person may use, ignite, fire, or explode any fireworks or consumer fireworks. This restriction will be enforced by the Owensboro Police Department.
The potential for ignition of vapor, or the ignition of combustible materials from the use of fireworks at this site is of great concern. It is important to adhere to this restriction for the safety of the neighborhood.
The Fireworks restriction within this zone is effective as of 3:30 PM June 21, 2019 and will remain in full force and effect until further notice, to include throughout the July 4th Holiday.
