Deer Park Elementary School kindergarten students will visit Camp Pennyroyal from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, as they learn about nature, Kentucky wildlife and habitats, and the world around us.
The children will explore walking paths to learn about the various trees that are native to our area and will observe birds and other animals.
Home Depot has generously provided materials that will allow all 96 kindergarten students to build their own birdhouses, which they will take home to provide nesting habitats for birds in their neighborhoods.
The day will include a picnic lunch and lots of excitement as children connect with the great outdoors and the beauty of nature!
