Data released by the Kentucky Department of Education is showing a slight improvement in student performance on the ACT college entrance exam. Officials today say an incremental increase was seen in ACT scores for the Kentucky class of 2018. Kentucky Education Commissioner Wayne Lewis says even the modest increases are the result of hard work on the part of students, educators and parents. The results do show continued significant disparities between the poor performance of student groups by race and ethnicity, which officials say needs to be addressed.
