Daviess County inmates are giving back to students with pumpkins. Jail staff unloaded hundreds of them at Country Heights Elementary School yesterday. All 500 pumpkins were grown by inmates. The jail has a garden, where inmates grow all kinds of produce for local non-profits. School officials will use the pumpkins in art, science, and math lessons. The detention center also donated pumpkins to Cravens Elementary School and the Cliff Hagan Boys and Girls Club in Owensboro.
