A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans base repairs to be followed by asphalt paving along sections of KY 2260 and KY 416 in Henderson County starting Wednesday, September 2. Some of the base repairs will require the roadway to be closed at times due to work along the center line. This group project includes the entire length of KY 2260/Trigg-Turner Road from mile point 0.0 at KY 266 extending northward to KY 136 at mile point 4.167. Work along KY 416 runs from mile point 19.172 at the KY 351 intersection in Hebbardsville extending eastward to The End of State Maintenance near the Green River at mile point 24.446, a distance of 5.2 miles. Base repair work is expected to start Wednesday morning along KY 2260 with closures beginning after the morning school bus run at approximately 7:15 a.m., CDT. Base repairs along KY 2260 are expected to take one day to complete. Base repair work is expected to start along KY 416 on Thursday morning with closures starting after the morning school bus run. The contractor will accommodate emergency vehicles and local traffic at each closure site in a timely manner. Once the base repairs are completed along KY 2260 and KY 416, traffic will be allowed to run for about a week to allow the repaired areas to settle. The contractor will then return for asphalt paving. Once paving starts, motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. J.H Rudolph & Company is the prime contractor on this $735,756 group highway improvement project. Once asphalt paving starts it should take about 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
