Regional non-profits will have a chance to qualify for new grant money from Owensboro Health. According to media partner 14News, the hospital will award over $702,924 to 38 organizations. To qualify, organizations must provide plans for programs and services that address community health needs. Funds are also available for specific programs and activities not directly related to healthcare, but explain how the organization’s services address problems impacting community health. Those programs and activities must serve individuals in the Owensboro Health service area. This includes Daviess, Hancock, Ohio, Henderson, Hopkins, McLean, Muhlenberg, Butler, Grayson, Union, Breckinridge and Webster counties in Kentucky, and Spencer and Perry counties in Indiana. The money will be awarded at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 26, at the OHRH Auditorium.
